ULTRASONIC-ANTIFOULING SYSTEM INFORMATION

EQUIPMENT IN OUR MARINE ULTRASONIC ANTIFOULING SYSTEM

CONTROL BOX

Installation consists of a control box with status LEDs. Size 110 x 110 x 68 mm deep.

There are inputs for 12V ships supply, also the the optional 110 / 230V AC power supply to run from a shore line supply.

If 24V DC operation is required, a suitable 24V to 12V inverter can be supplied.

The system automatically switches over to the vessel's battery when disconnected from the optional shore supply. If the battery voltage is low, the power is gradually reduced and at a pre-determined point, switched off to protect the battery.

An alternative solar supply can be used instead of the shore supply and should be rated at least 80 watt output according to where the craft is based and the number of transducers installed.

The outputs will drive up to 4 transducers which are connected by our standard RG59A cables. Maximum length of each run should be less than 15 m using RG59A or CT100 specification cables with waterproofed 'F' connectors fitted at both ends.

They can be made up on site using standard CT100 satellite cable or supplied ready terminated with gold-plated connectors in the standard lengths of 5 m and 10 m.

The control box is splash-proof and can be installed in the most convenient position in the craft.

     

TRANSDUCER HAS AN LED TO SHOW STATUS

The active transducer has a status LED to show correct operation. It measures Ø 72 mm x 45 mm high.

Transducer is to IP68 and the control box to IP66 environmental protection.

Care has been taken to exceed the requirements of the CE specifications to avoid electromagnetic interference to other marine equipment nearby.

The active transducers contain all the high-voltage drive circuitry.

This eliminates interference to other marine equipment through radiation from a long cable from the control box. We use a 12V DC feed with low-level control signals.

The transducer is simply bonded to the hull using 'David's Isopon P38' resin.

A reasonably flat area should be chosen on the hull and sanded clean to key surface and improve adhesion.

Connections between control box and transducers are by screened coaxial cables.

The optional power supply for operation from a shore supply is shown above. All power input cables should be rated at least 5 amps.
